through the back roads of the Koue Bokkeveld past Op die Berg. That route will have taken you over the beautiful Gydo Pass and over the high plateau which is peppered with ice blue dams and where South Africa's biggest onion crop comes from. Hook a left at Op die Berg and head North into the Southern Cederberg. The first gravel pass you will encounter is the Blinkberg Pass, which will take you past the guest farm of Mount Cedar (one of our favourite weekend spots) and towards the Grootrivier Pass. From there you have options of Kromrivier, Uitkyk, & Nieuwoudt Passes to the West or the rugged track (not suitable for normal cars) via Eselbank to Wupperthal. Things could be rough on the Eselbank route this weekend, so use some common sense before you take the high road.
Read about the Blinkberg Pass here - most of the other passes are hyperlinked within that text.
Have fun!
