Take the N7 (if you dont like the gravel travel stuff) to Clanwilliam. Head east out of Clanwilliam and drive the Pakhuis Pass. Where the tar ends just after the turnoff to Wupperthal and the Biedouw Valley (lastnamed is also a good place to see wild flowers), is the start of the Klipfonteinrant Pass.
Maybe stop for a light lunch at Travellers Rest right next to the river?
If you have the right vehicle and some time on your hands, you can drive a few more kilometers along the R364 and tackle the Botterkloof Pass and head for Nieuwoudtville as your turnaround point. Try something different for your homeward bound journey and head south through the Tankwa Karoo. It is absolutely beautiful and green at the moment. use our Master Map on the Home page to plan your journey.
Wherever you go, drive safely!
