The wild flowers are amongst the best in decades. We have just processed a little known pass East of Clanwilliam, called the Klipfonteinrant Pass. If you're in the mood to get into the spirit of sping, then this pass is a perfect destination where you are guaranteed to see more flowers than you can imagine. How to get there?

Take the N7 (if you dont like the gravel travel stuff) to Clanwilliam. Head east out of Clanwilliam and drive the  Pakhuis Pass. Where the tar ends just after the turnoff to Wupperthal and the Biedouw Valley (lastnamed is also a good place to see wild flowers), is the start of the Klipfonteinrant Pass.

Maybe stop for a light lunch at Travellers Rest right next to the river?

If you have the right vehicle and some time on your hands, you can drive a few more kilometers along the R364 and tackle the Botterkloof Pass and head for Nieuwoudtville as your turnaround point. Try something different for your homeward bound journey and head south  through the Tankwa Karoo. It is absolutely beautiful and green at the moment. use our Master Map on the Home page to plan your journey.

Wherever you go, drive safely!

Master Orientation Map We are as passionate about maps as we are about mountain passes. A good map is a thing of beauty that can transport you into the mists of time or get your sense of adventure churning. It is a place to make discoveries about deserts and seas, mountains and lakes; of roads leading into places you have not been before; a place to pore over holiday destinations or weekend camping trips. A map is your window to the world.
